Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim’

Guillermo del Toro is finally back to the cinema after nearly five years away. After wasting a couple of years trying to get The Hobbit off the ground, along with the disappointment of seeing his passion project, an adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s novella At the Mountains of Madness shelved, he is ready to present us with his next film: a ‘monsters Vs giant robots’ extravaganza.

Here at Larkalong we adore del Toro. He has a truly singular vision and in the genre of fantasy horror he reigns supreme. Over the last few years he has also helped produce some incredible films and has come to represent true quality whether he’s directing, producing, writing novels or merely discussing in many curious and suprising passions (a little known fact about del Toro is that he’s also a Hitchcock expert, writing a book on the master’s 53 feature films when he was only 23). Pacific Rim is released in July 2013.
